the MENAGERIE

A massive number of large metal cages overlooks the Grand Arena, and noise here is all but perpetual. This is the Menagerie - it had a different name before, but the people and hunters who came to visit always called it as such, and the new name stuck easily. Every variety of monster imaginable is held withing these great bars, each species restrained accordingly as to render them unable to harm those outside the bars. A time-tried process keeps them well-fed and healthy. To many people, it's a sort of zoo; to the hunters, it's a way to better know their enemy. However, no monster is kept here long - when it is time for an arena fight, the necessary monsters are taken down through a tunnel in the rock to their own entrance into the Grand Arena.
